No rings....yet

A wet weekend has provided the perfect time for quilting. At last, I've had some time to really work on my big project for this year - The Double Wedding Ring quilt.

The photo below shows it in its latest state: 36 panels of six strips. I laid them out on the floor and snapped this shot. Of course, there are no rings...yet. That magic will happen later.

The next step is to cut these 36 panels into 2" strips and resew seams at an angle to (eventually) create 322 curved "arcs". 322! I got started on that step, and had 40 arcs in no time.

There's something very "zen" about resewing these seams to make these strips start to curve. Like The Karate Kid, I'm learning something through all this repetition. (Wax on. Wax off.)

Patience. Patience.
