K.I.P.ing in Paradise

There's a movement amongst us knitters to step out of the comfort of the knitting closet and K.I.P., or Knit In Public. As a proud newbie knitter, I welcome the opportunity to K.I.P. in one of the most majestic locales in North America: Yosemite National Park.

THC and I are camping out (I use that term most loosely) in the absolutely amazing Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite Valley for a couple of much-needed and well-deserved days of R&R. After a night of fine dining followed by a night of blissful sleep and a morning of hiking and high-altitude sightseeing, we settled back into our home away from home for an afternoon of lounging in the Great Lounge at the Ahwahnee.

While enjoying our afternoon tea and cookies, we settled into a couple of original 1927 "Sleepy Hollow" chairs (very comfortable) and focused on relaxation. THC fired up the laptop and took advantage of 21st century wi-fi in this very early 2oth century landmark. Me? I pulled out my knitting and decided to spend a couple of blissful hours K.I.P.ing at the Ahwahnee while the late afternoon drizzle set the stage for what we hope will become an overnight blanket (or at the very least dusting) of snow.

Eating, drinking, sightseeing and hiking have definitely been the order of the day. I was pleased and proud to add knitting to that delightful list!
