I've Built the Arcs!

I've reached my first major milestone in the creation of this Double Wedding Ring quilt: I've finished the arcs -- FINALLY! These 360 arcs will become the "rings" in the design. Each arc consists of 6 different fabrics. That means I've assembled 2,160 pieces of fabric to get this far! Yikes!
At long last, I finally get to start working with the background fabric. Next step is to cut out 180 "melon" shaped pieces, to which two arcs will be attached...eventually. From here on out, the "numbers" get smaller: 180 melons, then 81 centers. It definitely feels like I've reached a peak on this project. The work ahead may not be as simple, but at least it'll involve much fewer pieces.
I recently read the words of a quilter who had successfully completed this pattern. She said things started going much faster after the arcs were finished. I hope she's right. With all this celebration, I realize I'm far behind schedule. A little acceleration on this project would be most welcome.

Her daughter got her hair cut very short ...
I'm VERY impressed by the wedding ring quilt you are making! I've made two lap quilts, and there's a third that never got finished. I figure that when my Kiddies graduate, I'll get back to it!
