Hey, I've been busy
I can't believe it's been over a month since my last post. Living with a blogger who updates at least as often as he brushes his teeth, I know that once a month posting is strictly bad form.
The thing about having a hobby (or two) and a blog is that the hobbies take time. Combine that with the basic necessities of life, like working and sleeping, and that leaves precious little time for blogging.
Truth is, I've been busy. Work has been keeping me busier than usual. Plus, it is March Madness after all. Even though my team suffered a brain fart in the first round, I have managed to catch a game or two.
Here's a quick project update:
The Big Roman Shade is a big headache, mostly because it's BIG. Lots of fabric, gobs of folds. It's ugly. It is nearly done, and the jury is out (That reminds me....I need to call in for jury duty!). I'll probably finish it tomorrow. Photo to come.
The Soldier Quilt is on pause. I haven't done a thing. It's time for Jean and me to compare calendars and find another "play date" to finish this "feel good" project.
My Knitting is pretty quiet. I'm doing a "springtime" scarf out of ribbon. But, I'm uninspired. I'm noticing that as the weather gets better, my desire to knit tends to fall by the wayside.
The Double Wedding Ring Quilt is getting bigger! I talked with DD (the future recipient) today, and she and her husband bought a new bed this week, and it's much taller. So, we revisted the dimensions of this work in progress. The 8x9 block quilt needs to grow to 9x9, provided we have enough fabric. And, I think we will. I'm eager to spend some time making good progress on this project.
That's the full report from The Merry Stitcher.
A very happy holiday weekend to all. More to come.
