'Tis the Season...
...to start a blog. (Especially when your blog includes the word "Merry")
Many thanks to two Web-obsessed loved ones of mine for their inspiration and help in starting this adventure in cyberspace.
To Julie D., of the Happy Catholic, thanks (I think) for introducing our household to this 21st century phenomenon. You've scolded me for having nothing on my blog. Now, sistah, I have something.
To my dear husband (which I understand gets abbreviated as DH in quilting blog circles), the Happy Capitalist (gee, there's a real trend here), thanks for personalizing my sidebars and figuring out how to post photos and such. All of that will come in really handy...someday (soon, Julie, soon!)
Now, on to the business of blogging. With just a few days to go before Christmas, the shopping is done, the cards are mailed (thanks to my DH), and I have one more sewing project to complete. Isn't that always the way? This blog is intended to be mostly about quilting, and I have finished a quilt for someone on my gift list. I finished it waaaay early (yeah), and will feature it here. But, I have to wait until after the holiday, because this lucky giftee now knows about my blog. Wouldn't want to spoil any holiday surprise now, would we?
I have one big, major, honking, mega quilting project set for 2005. I'm making a queen size Double Wedding Ring quilt (which I'll abbreviate as DWR from now on) for my brother-in-law and his wife. It will be a welcome challenge and a labor of love, and my intention is to document it's development on this blog.....among other things.
Much more to come on it all. For now, Merry Christmas from the Merry Stitcher.
Peace.

WOOHOO! Congrats and welcome to the blogosphere. I think I can safely say that YOURS will be the only quilting blog I read. :-)
However, I'm hooked up with a number of other lovely ladies who have hinted at being quilting fanatics so we'll see if I can direct any of them your way.
Merry Christmas to the Merry Stitcher!

ahhh, another quilter :) i once was a prolific quilter and then my husband had the brilliant idea to open a restaurant. since i am more a hand-piecer and hand-quilter, i've since put away my fabric stash and picked up knitting needles again.

Welcome Julie D. and Martha2! Thanks so much for stopping by. There'll be more here than just quilting. Plus, I've been asking myself the question, "Will I learn how to knit in this lifetime?" So, who knows? There may be knitting stuff here, too, someday!
Happy Holidays to you both!
